Leadership Bible Classes Flourish

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Isaiah 61:3

Bill’s October class at our VFA home base.

New leadership bible classes are bursting forward for all five VFA field teachers as they close the year out with their 2015 graduations. Their sacrifice is much, as they travel to remote areas come rain or shine. The rains are atrocious this season with roads inaccessible for any vehicle because of the red, clay mud. Where the teachers can’t ride… they walk pushing their motorbikes through to reach their class destination. We witness amazing spiritual growth in each teacher because, as they pour the life giving Word into others, we witness true wealth… spiritual growth!

We are so pleased that most of the students are from one church—the Pastor, his wife, assistant Pastors and church leaders.

The “Bait of Satan” curriculum has had a significant impact on each student with testimonies pouring in since day one.

After the fourth class, the “women’s ministry leader” stood in our classroom to give her testimony. We will call her Ruth. Some years ago Ruth fell into an affair with a married man. He left his family to live with Ruth, but during the relationship she powerfully found Jesus and released the man to return to his wife. It was in the “Bait” teachings that Ruth felt convicted to go to the man’s wife to ask forgiveness of the pain and sorrow she had caused. Ruth knew God had forgiven her, but she knew the man’s wife carried vile bitterness and hatred towards her. Knees knocking and heart pounding, Ruth met with the scorned woman. It took some time for the woman to realize Ruth’s sincerity, but finally from behind a cold, warring wall, the woman realized Ruth’s heartfelt sorrow for her mistake and gave her forgiveness.

It was back in the classroom though that Ruth finally was completely set free. While openly confessing her story the Holy Spirit visited that room and every heart as we watched and heard Ruth sing from a glorious mountaintop. Totally unaware of anyone around her Ruth sang a “new song” from the depths of a spirit set free!
