Pastoral Training Ministry
Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.2 Timothy 4:2
Kenya is inundated with Bible Schools—good ones! We were somewhat taken aback when the Lord directed us to start a “leadership” Bible School. Through much prayer and careful assessment we discovered there truly is a need for a “life application” course. We learned in our assessment that Pastors and church leaders could recite the Bible but were not necessarily studying the depth of the content of the scriptures and applying it to their lifestyle.
Our classes are not lectures alone but are facilitated to hear the voice of the students involved. On many occasions the class day closely examines one particular scripture and the students break into a day of prayer, repentance and true worship! Our classes are made up of various tribes where tribal differences strike up conflicts that are leveled by the power of the Almighty and the desire in the hearts of sincere Pastors to walk upright. Bill and I, the founder and directors of VFA Ministries, hold classes in our home-base compound while our five extended teachers travel by motorbike throughout Kenya and Uganda to set up classes in churches.
Our vision is to teach those bush and remote Pastors that cannot afford expensive seminary and bible colleges. The students complete a four book course in one year. John and Lisa Bevere are the Christian authors that donate the libraries and study curriculums for the teachers.
This ministry covers the cost of printing materials as well as food and lodging for students during their stay. Overall, it costs $100 per student to complete this one year cost.
